WhatsApp is very useful instant messaging app and now days almost everyone uses WhatsApp. But WhatsApp can be addicted and time killer if it not used effectively. Till the date WhatsApp has more than 800 million monthly active user and around 64 billion messages send and received via WhatsApp and those numbers indicate that most of the people are addicted to WhatsApp.

  1. You update your status message daily. Because it’s of vital importance that people know you’re ‘at the movies’, ‘in a meeting’, ‘sleeping’ or ‘at the gym’ blah blah blah.
  2. It’s the first thing you look at in the morning and last thing at night Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, emails, Pinterest? *Nothing* comes before WhatsApp when there is a ‘new message’ icon flashing.

  4. You change your status and profile pic every second.
  5. Driving, eating, sleeping, working or whatever you are doing, if you reply to a WhatsApp message as soon as you receive it, it clearly shows you are addicted to the medium. Even if that means disturbing your sleep, or taking the risk while driving or getting distracted while work, you don't really bother.

Some tips to get over WhatsApp addiction.

  1. Avoid changing your status and profile photo every day:

    Updating your WhatsApp status on daily basis is useless and it is wastage of time.

    Your Whatsapp status gives updates of your planes to others and sometimes it also indicates the state of your mind.

    so stop updating status daily basis and updates on weekly basis. Keep in mind that Whatsapp is an instant messaging app and it is not photo sharing app like Instagram or Facebook.

    So try to avoid changing display picture every day. As like status change display picture weekly.

    By avoiding changing status and photo every day you can avoid Whatsapp addiction.
  2. Make a schedule and stick to it:

    Avoid checking WhatsApp chats after every single minute or second and make a schedule for check WhatsApp chat.

    You can check WhatsApp chat half hour each in morning or at night that’s suit you.

    Give the idea about your schedule to your close friend.

    Strictly avoid checking WhatsApp in your working hours.
